This unique project began as a simple build of a street legal, Nascar vibe road race car and as, happens to many rodding projects, has grown into much more. TRIPPLE THREAT will now be, as it name implies a car for every type of rodder be they a road, drag or salt racer. And it will be street legal. Changes to the car for each racing venue will be limited to the front bumper / air dam, hood, trunk lid / wing, tires ride height and safety items. TRIPPLE THREAT will be a most unique build that will be documented by video featuring sponsor components used in the build and during track time with the video shown at shows and events. THE TEAM: SHOW / RUN SCHEDULE: Tripple Threat will be debuted at SEMA 2011. Following SEMA we expect to participate in the Optima ultimate Street Car Challenge followed by time on the track at Laguna, Sears Point and elsewhere along with numerous show appearances. This build will feature Chevrolet power and a manual transmission with a period correct road race look in its normal street trim. For visits to the salt and drag strip tires, gearing, ride height, front end air control pieces and a different trunk lid with wing will be put on. Simple changes=big effect.
