Heat Shield: Heat Transfers Three Way

Conductive Heat
The direct flow through a solid
object from hot to cold.

Convective Heat
Convected heat flow is mostly upward somewhat sideways.
Heat flow is never
downward when air is warmed. Warm air expands, becomes less dense and rises.

Radiant Heat
Radiant heat is the flow of invisible infra-red rays emitting from the
surface of an object, because of heat within it. All objects give off
radiant heat, called radiation.
Quality Heat Shield Insulation consists of two sheets of 99.5% pure
industrial grade aluminum laminated to 3/8" fiber tech padding, to achieve
the highest reflection of radiant heat and sound deadening. It conforms to
Federal Motor Vehicles Safety Standard (FMVSS) 302 flammability on interior
materials as specified in the code of regulations, Title F49, transportation
Section 571.302. U.S. Coast Guard approved for interior finish. This product
passes UL-723 and ASTM-E-84.
